At the rental return station at the Calgary airport they laughed at us half joking and half meaning it: “why would you go to Winnipeg, there’s nothing there”. But it turned out to be quite nice, and we didn’t go just to see Winnipeg. The main reason was to meet Melinas cousin Dave and his lovely wife Courtney who drove all the way down from Thompson, an 8 hour journey, thanks again!!!

It was a lot of fun, we also met their beautiful and so well behaved dog Bronx, we tried this canadian specialty called Poutine and went to a Cafe where you could play all the boardgames you wanted while having some drinks or meals. After spending a few hours there we moved to a bigger gameroom, a so called escape room. We didn’t know it but here in Canada it’s quite popular. And we now know why…because it’s a lot of fun!?? We had an hour time to get out of the room by solving riddles and puzzles. We needed to steal a diamond and guess what? We made it out with only 40 seconds left…and the diamond ?!

Time passed by too fast and after this wonderful days in Winnipeg it was time for us to go on  to our last airport (Toronto) and for Dave and Courtney to go back to work.
