After a wonderful trip along the coast of California, we ended the US part of our tour and entered Canada. We arrived in Vancouver, where we were picked up by John, a relative of Melinas. The next 4 nights we stayed at his and Beaus appartment, thanks again for hosting us!!
From the appartment in West End it was a short walk to everywhere. We visited the beautiful Stanley Park taking a walk around the park, an easy 10km along the seawall, visited Granville Island and Downtown Vancouver all on the first day, all on foot. Grouse Mountain was on the list for the next day. John and Beau were so kind to drive us up to the Gondola. We spent the day walking around, watching the Grizzly bears and the birds and seeing the view over Vancouver from the eye of the wind. The weather wasn’t as spectacular as the day before, but at least it did not rain, and the view was decent.
The next day was Canada day… similarly to real canadians we spent it not doing very much 😉
The day we were supposed to leave, we met with Catia and Gabriela for brunch and to watch the Euro soccer game (ITA-GER). It was a great morning/afternoon with the two and catching up the news from Switzerland, even though we are getting near the end of our trip, but anyways… 😉 . Because of the soccer game and the endless penalty shoot out we almost missed the appointment to pick up the car which will take us through the rockies to Calgary.
