Maipo Valley

We could of course not leave Chile (for now) without visiting the famous Maipo Valley, where the majority of the chilean wine comes from! So we booked a day tour, two vineyards and lunch. At the same time a group of 6 retired south africans were interested in the same tour, it happened that we shared the same minivan and guide for the day and had lunch together. It was funny so to say?! We learned a lot about making wine in this valley and enjoyed some good, some unfortunately not so good wine. But we got each a glass of the Santa Rita and the Concho Y Toro vineyard (only 3 survived so far) and got to see the devil at the casillero del diablo…

  1. Hi Melina & Enrico,
First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We did celebrate your birthday, sort of. Your parents came to us on Friday and we went to them yesterday. I have just come back from Bangkok. Bangkok is very hot in April but because Ruedi, Markus and Michelle came during Easter, so I stayed on till a few days ago.
We all miss you and can’t wait to hear about your trip from you at home.
    Again, Happy Birthday!
    Luck

    1. Hi Luck,
      Thank you very much!
It seems you timed your trip perfectly, it looks like you skipped most of the cold weather and can enjoy a mild spring in Lugano…
Enjoy your celebration of my birthday ?
      See you in July/August!
