Another 5 hours or so of driving and we soon arrived at the Kalbarri NP, a smaller but not less beautiful National Park, known in particular for its natural window but featuring lovely gorges, rivers, and a portion of the coastline south of Kalbarri – the city.
We arrived late in the afternoon, so we decided to have a quick look at one of the outlooks, find ourselves a place to sleep and get something to eat. Again – as you can see from the pictures – we found ourselves a 3 Michelin stars restaurant with a stunning view over the red sunset and colorful wildlife… The chef just cooks for very special guests 😉
The next day, after a plentiful breakfast, we visited the rest of the park, and discovered amazing views which probably can’t fully be appreciated by looking at the pictures: wide plains with deep gorges cutting through the landscape, wave carved limestone coasts and several arches and “windows”….oh and by the way swans in Australia are black… just like winter is summer and summer is winter 😉
